Fresh project!

Yesterday I started working on a new project: a script. I'd been wanting to write one for a while, but could never get round to it. I had a bunch of good ideas, but I couldn't turn them into anything concrete. However, yesterday I came up with this idea and got down to writing. And when I write fiction, I write FAST!! I don't know why, it's just like one thing flows after the other, until I get to the point where I run out of ideas.

I basically started writing from a character name I'd come up with ages ago, and a theme I thought matched her. I wrote a bunch of scenes, and also lots of notes on whatever ideas I got about my characters. By the end of the day, I had an almost finished script. I showed it my soon-to-graduate filmmaker sister. I expected her to be really harsh on me, but she actually thought it was good! She made a bunch of good observations, and I added a few things.

Today I didn't work on it all day because I've been out. I met a new friend for lunch, and then went to postural re education (getting better...). But when I finally made it back home, I gave my script another read, and I really liked it! I suppose it helps that I have a lot of fun writing it. And I feel like I really know my characters. It still needs work, of course. But I'm surprised at how easily it's coming, since I'd never writen for the screen before. Self producing could be closer than I'd thought!
